The OnRoads™ Roadway Data Collector

OnSafety Safety Transportation Data Visualization and Comparision Tools

Easily Run Ad-Hoc Querys Against Your Agency’s Transportation Data

The OnSafety™ Crash Viewer application contains a set of technical data-visualization and analysis widgets. All of the visualization and analysis widgets are contained within a single web application framework. The Crash Viewer can be fully integrated with the desktop version of the OnSafety™ Crash Viewer application.

The OnSafety™ Crash Viewer allows agencies to combine several sources of pertinent data into a single rapid-access, read-only data warehouse. Once appropriate datasets have been extracted from the warehouse, users have the ability to perform a number of complex statistical analyses including:

  • Frequency distributions
  • Cross tabulations
  • Maximum gain calculations
  • Evaluations of over-and-under representations
  • Comparisons and correlations
  • Strip-maps and hotspot determinations

Customize the System to Meet Your Agency’s Needs

The OnSafety™ Crash Viewer is very flexible and can be tailored to meet the needs of both state and local or regional Departments of Transportation, Planning, Engineering, and Safety. This solution has a proven success record of combining and comparing datasets for primary crash records, roadway features, traffic counts, LRS locations, and other smaller data sets. The Crash Viewer also supports individual user customization; users can search for and add addresses or locations frequently accessed as “favorites”, or “geo bookmarks”. Available system widgets include:

  • Mapping – Integrates spatial and location data with a number of web-based mapping systems (Google, Yahoo, Virtual Earth, etc.)
  • Graphing/Charting – Visualize summary data in bar charts, pie charts, tables, and others
  • Frequency Analysis – Select any variable and return the frequency of each data value
  • Cross-Tabulations – Combine any two variables and return the data frequencies between the two

Minimize Training Hurdles with an Intuitive, Modern User-Interface

The OnSafety™ Crash Viewer is powerful, yet simple to use; it allows even casual non-technical end-users to organize, review, and interrogate crash, transportation, and GIS data. The Crash Viewer interface is collection of collapsible, re-sizable display panels. The dynamic display option allows for tabbed side-by side comparisons, a display of multiple analyses at once, or even a full-screen detailed view of a single display panel and query output.

Multiple nested filtering functions are easily executed using simple drop down menus to select analysis variables such as the number of ‘teenage drivers’ in relation to ‘alcohol related crashes’, between the hours of ‘10pm-12am’. Additional user controls (buttons) provide the capability of hiding zero values in the graphical output of a query, changing display graphs, and outputting query results as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
